Zion’s 847 Zoo Is Making Moves

Greater Chicago has a new star. Zion’s 847 Zoo is making moves this year with his breakout single “Been Dat”, a bouncy track where the rapper tells us about his upbringing and unconventional worldview as a true hustler. “The beat so damn nasty I couldn’t let it go to waste”, he says. “I be on some cool sh** don’t make me lose my call bi***”. The rapper describes his sound as “melodic soul rap”, citing influences as far and wide as Chief Keef, Juice Wrld, and Ed Sheeran. He cites his father as his earliest introduction to music, as well as his first love, football. The two men hustled in the increasingly crime-filled town of Zion, eventually overcoming their odds and securing a better life. Zoo’s wide catalog of experiences and strategic worldview created the perfect conditions for him to tell (some of) his stories in “Been Dat”. This is his year. We can’t wait to watch him grow.
